Hotel Margherita

Hotel Margherita is located just a few kilometers west of Kasese Town, western Uganda, in the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains otherwise known as the Mountains of the Moon. At Hotel Margherita, guests are greeted with courtesy and warm hospitality, making them feel they are really part of the entire Rwenzori experience.

The hotel has 36 rooms available, ranging from Executive Suites to Standard Double and Single Rooms. There is also an apartment available that can accommodate a family of five. A strong emphasis is placed on making the rooms as comfortable as possible, with TVs, air-conditioning and fridges.

There is a restaurant and bar on the premises, where guests can spend the evening socializing, watching TV, or playing chess, pool or darts. There are also conference rooms that can accommodate up to 300 people and ample on-site parking.

There are myriad activities to keep guests occupied during their stay at Hotel Margherita. The hotel itself has lush gardens where there is a wealth of birdlife for the enthusiasts. Golfers, both experienced and those new to the game, will revel in the opportunity to play a round on the 18-hole Rwenzori Golf Course.

The hotel is located within 30 minutes’ drive from Queen Elizabeth National Park, 45 minutes from the trail head at Ibanda for those visiting the Rwenzori Mountains National Park and 5 minutes from Kasese Town. Also close to the hotel are the Kilembe Mines set in a majestic valley with the Rwenzori range as a backdrop.
The hotel has Conference facilities that can accommodate up to 300 delegates. The conference hall is spacious enough to host workshops and any other activities at the foot hills of the Rwenzoris.
Families are invited to enjoy each other’s company out-doors where children can play in their own children’s garden and specially designed play area with swings and see-saws amongst other outdoor entertainment for them.

Rwenzori International Hotel

It is located in the beautiful city of Kasese and is only a 3 minutes’ drive from the Kasese airstrip. There are 35 cosy rooms available to guests with breakfast included in the rate.
The rooms are all comfortably furnished and equipped with a TV and telephone. Bedding and mosquito nets are provided on the beds.

Hotel facilities include a restaurant offering a selection or affordable dishes. The onsite bar is fully licensed and is well stocked with a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Among other facilities provided by the hotel include well equipped kitchen, secure and ample parking, large dining area, DSTV lounge, large garden with seating, mains electricity, hot water bathing facilities are all part of the inclusive set up at the hotel.

The hotel has two seminar halls, sitting 20-150 people, made of traditional materials and excellently ventilated. Our conference facilities are well equipped with tables, chairs, flip chart stand and LCD projector and have washrooms conveniently located nearby.

Tour Holiday Inn

Tours Holiday Inn Camp Base is located on the main road towards Nyakalenjija (about 2 km before), in Ibanda trading center. This hotel can accommodate up to 40 people in 15 self-contained rooms plus extension building. The place was recently renovated and the rooms which were not self-contained now they have private toilet. Also the water heaters are provided in each room and electricity is stable and reliable from public electricity supply. A part from the main building, there is another extension located behind the gardens, with an extra capacity of five self-contained rooms. The place is very nice as it is surrounded by beautiful gardens with many plants and flower. From the front entrance, is operational a bar which also serves external visitors. Inside the hotel, there is a cozy and private dining room for restaurant and breakfast. Unique is the electrical coffee espresso machine. The kitchen provides a variety of cuisine, from continental to German style, to Italian style and when we went there in several occasions food was always very good. This hotel is owned by the trading company of Mr. Costantino Bwambale an entrepreneur of Kasese. The place has developed over the years and now it also has a conference center annexed.

Ruboni Community Camp

Ruboni Community Camp is situated in the Rwenzori foothills, beside the peaceful farming village of Ruboni, and offers guests the chance to enjoy the gorgeous mountain views from the comfort of their own rooms, surrounded by colorful tropical gardens.

Self-contained bandas, private rooms and safari tents are available, along with a restaurant and scenic veranda. All staffs are from Ruboni, and will be delighted to share with you their in-depth knowledge of the region and of the Bakonzo culture.

This is the ideal retreat for visitors who wish to hike the Rwenzoris, take an early morning birding trek, or explore the village of Ruboni and meet its friendly residents. As all profits are returned to the community, you can see the direct impacts of your stay.

The Camp offers distinct Amenities to guests and among these involve solar powered lighting, hot overhead showers.
The Restaurant at the Camp serves typical Ugandan and continental dishes.

The camp site provides guest with options to choose between the campsites (tents not provided), one of the six individual rooms with private washrooms (hot water brought on request) or three self-contained bandas. The rooms and bandas have two medium beds.

The rooms are built in way they have the Balcony/veranda with mountain views and they also have private rooms equipped with mosquito nets, also private rooms in the campsite have bathrooms with options of composting toilets and flash toilets.

The campsite organizes different activities and among these involve visiting a traditional homestead, craft demonstrations and cultural performance, Hill climb walk with access of viewing Margarita peak which is Africa’s third highest mountain.

Rwenzori Based Camp Guest House

Mountains National Park is ultimately one of the world’s last unspoiled wildernesses a ‘World Heritage Site’ and one of Uganda’s star tourist attractions.

Rwenzori Basecamp Guesthouse is nestled in the foothills of these fabled mountains some 4 kms from the National Park Headquarters in the Konzo village of Ibanda. Here you will enjoy the hospitality of the guest house staff and a warm welcome from the local people. The Guesthouse is the ideal gateway to the Rwenzori for climbers, bird watchers and day walkers alike.

The Guest house is 20 kms from Kasese town, some 10 kms from the main Kasese to Fort Portal road and almost 15 minutes’ drive from Kasese Airfield for those visitors considering chartering an aircraft from Entebbe.
